Outdoor fabrics by the metre
Outdoor fabrics allow you to stay warm and, above all, dry even when it's wet, cold and windy outside. Regardless of the weather, with good outdoor clothing the next adventure won't be long in coming!
We therefore have a large selection of membrane fabrics, coated fabrics and reflective fabrics. If you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch with our fabric consultation team and we'll do our best to find the perfect fabric for you!
Important properties
It is not possible to make a general statement about the properties of all outdoor fabrics due to their different characteristics. That's why we have divided the fabrics into several sub-categories.
For example, our membrane fabrics are windproof, waterproof and breathable. The high-quality climate membrane is usually made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and is often sandwiched between a water-repellent outer fabric and a lining fabric as a waterproof intermediate layer. Our range includes 2-layer laminates, 3-layer laminates and pure membranes for further processing.
With our coated fabrics, the respective coating material must be taken into account in order to make an accurate statement about breathability and waterproofness.
Our range includes textiles with polyvinyl chloride, acrylic and polyurethane coatings.
Polyurethane coating: Light to good breathability, windproof, waterproof and crease-resistant
Acrylic coating: Slightly breathable, windproof, waterproof and crease-resistant
Polyvinyl chloride coating: Not breathable, windproof, waterproof and crease-friendly

Care instructions
As various materials and compositions are grouped together under the term outdoor fabrics, particular attention should be paid to the care instructions for each product.
In general, outdoor fabrics should be washed as rarely as possible in order to preserve the impregnation for as long as possible. If you still want to wash the fabric, we recommend ironing the outer fabric at low heat afterwards to reactivate the waterproofing molecules. Please place a cloth between the iron and the fabric. If the waterproofing can no longer be renewed with heat, it should be refreshed with a waterproofing spray.
Thanks to the water-repellent impregnation, it is often not even necessary to wash the fabric, as many dirt particles can be removed with a soft brush or damp cloth.
