How Walk Loden and Boiled Wool Are Made
The difference between walk loden and boiled wool lies in their manufacturing process and material structure.
Walk loden is made from woven or knitted wool fabrics that undergo a fulling process. Moisture, heat and movement compact the fabric, causing the wool fibres to interlock and creating a dense, firm and durable material.
Boiled wool, on the other hand, is first knitted and then fulled or felted at high temperatures. This allows the fabric to shrink in a controlled way and become denser. Boiled wool usually remains slightly softer and more elastic because the knitted base structure is partially preserved.

Care Instructions
Walk loden and boiled wool have excellent self-cleaning properties. Before washing your coat by hand, simply hang it outside in the fresh air. Unpleasant odours will often disappear on their own.
If washing is necessary, we recommend gentle hand washing in cold water using a special wool detergent.
Pure walk loden and boiled wool must not be tumble dried. To prevent distortion, the fabric should be dried flat, as wool fibres become even more stretchable when wet.
Iron only at a low temperature (1 dot), preferably using steam or a damp cloth. Dry cleaning with perchloroethylene is possible. Do not bleach.
