Production of polyamide fabrics
Polyamide fabric is made from synthetic fibers and is based on chemical raw materials. In a complex process known as polymerization, long molecular chains are formed, which serve as the basis for the later fibers.
The fibers are then melted and spun through fine nozzles into continuous filaments. From these filaments, yarns are produced, which are then processed into fabrics. In technical applications, tightly woven constructions are often used to ensure high stability.
Depending on the intended use, the fabrics are additionally finished. Coatings such as polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) make the fabrics water-repellent or even waterproof. The polyamide fabric can also be impregnated to protect against dirt and moisture.
Key properties
Polyamide fabric is considered a high-performance material as it is particularly robust, abrasion-resistant and durable even under heavy and intensive use. With the appropriate finishing, the fabric can be water-repellent or waterproof. It is also windproof and offers protection against external influences. Thanks to its good dimensional stability, polyamide fabric is a perfect companion for demanding projects.

Care instructions
In general, care is uncomplicated and should be adapted to the respective finishing. It is best to follow the care instructions of the respective fabric.
In general:
Wash at 30–40°C on a gentle cycle in the washing machine using a mild detergent. Drying is best done on a hanger in the air, but not too long in direct sunlight or on a radiator. Avoid tumble drying, as it can impair the properties of the fabric. Since polyamide fabrics are sensitive to heat, they should not be ironed if possible. If necessary, use a low temperature setting (iron setting 1) and ideally with steam or a damp cloth.
