Important properties of jersey
Nowadays, a classic jersey is knitted from cotton and elastane. This means that the fabric is usually elastic (stretchy) and therefore very comfortable to wear. It adapts well to the shape and is particularly suitable for beginners. Due to its breathability, jersey is also ideal on warm days or when you are on the move.
Thanks to its feel, absorbency and stretch, the fabric also cuts a very good figure for children's clothing. The fabric has a soft drape and feels very comfortable against the skin.
Apart from the cotton blend, jersey can also be made with merino wool or viscose, for example.

Care instructions
Jersey fabric is very easy to care for. It is usually washed on a gentle cycle at 30 °C and then hung up loosely. If things need to be done quickly or there is no room to hang the fabric, it can usually be tumble dried. Jersey is not very crease-prone, but can still be ironed on a low setting if necessary (iron 1 point).
In individual cases, it is always important to follow the care instructions for the fabric.
